It’s All Far Away Until It’s Not

island rain
and still my spouting
off

A town hall on deep sea mining grows contentious. Questions are raised about sovereignty. About who’s getting paid. In a territory dependent on SNAP and Medicaid assistance. On a future funded by the DOE. On the likelihood that the fish will still have a place to swim.

rain chains
the trickle down
still doesn’t work
