Patty Storms
Issue 23 (April 2024)

is a painter, ceramic artist, and sculptor, whose passion for drawing and painting began early in her childhood. She has worked in several mediums including oil, watercolor, pencil, pen and ink, photography, and ceramics. After graduating from Wesleyan University with a degree in Art History, Patty worked at both Christie’s and LIGHT Gallery in New York City in the field of 19th and 20th century photography. While raising two children, she continued painting and created portraits on commission.

Patty Storms and her husband, Morty Bachar, also an accomplished ceramic artist and sculptor, own and manage Lakeside Pottery Studio, which they established in 2001 in Stamford, CT and then relocated to Lewes, DE in 2015. They combine their many years of experience in teaching art, pottery, sculpting, engineering, and painting, to operate their studios: https://www.lakesidepottery.com/

More on the Web: By, About, and Beyond

Portrait of a lion by Patty Storms is featured on the cover of The Lion’s World: A Journey into the Heart of Narnia by Rowan Williams (Oxford University Press).

Natural Garden Pond Attracts Wildlife (“A Delaware couple built their home and gardens around a natural pond that’s a haven for wildlife”) by Janet Loughrey, with photos by Morty Bachar and Patty Storms, in Garden Design (ca. 2021):

...Patty and Morty’s garden attracts a wide diversity of beneficial insects, songbirds, amphibians, and mammals....

“...our goal is to co-exist with nature as much as possible,” says Morty. “The yard is magical at night with the meditative sounds of trickling water, croaking frogs, and chirping crickets.”
