Venice—
how eager his tongue 
to taste my gelato 
			
 
			

			morning walk 
			a pinecone falls 
			in my coffee 
			
 
			

in the mirror 
some woman 
that knows me 
			

			

			bagpipes on the hill 
			grandma sneaks 
			a wee dram 
			
 
			

family arrives
whispers begin
with shrimp cocktail 
			

			

			toes in the sand 
			that one crab 
			I didn’t see 

Sharon Ferrante
