You love light in the sky in the morning and you love light in the sky at night and you love darkness in your nap in between and you wonder if it’s possible to live on just light and satisfy your craving for it, and you love how your desire for light makes way for your love of darkness and how darkness shows you a different kind of light, the way silence reveals a different kind of song and you love to learn these simple parts of life, love how your life has turned a corner towards love, towards light, growing towards it like the spider plant from Mother’s garden in a pot on the sill that grows, grows still.

Guy Biederman

is the author of six books, including Translated from the Original: One-Inch Punch Fiction (Nomadic Press, 2022), Nova Nights (Nomadic Press, 2021), Edible Grace (KYSO Flash Press, 2019), and Soundings & Fathoms (Finishing Line Press).
